SUMMARY:Celebrating 110 Years of the East Kent Road Car Company
DESCRIPTION:Join us at The WonderWorks as we celebrate 110 years of East Kent bus history!\n\n\n\nWe’ll be welcoming four fantastic buses to our car park for a special static display\, bringing together the past and present of local bus travel.\n\n\n\n Two vintage vehicles from Friends of the East Kent (FotEK)\, showcasing buses from bygone eras.\n\n\n Two modern vehicles from Stagecoach’s Thanet depot\, showing the buses still keeping our local communities moving today.\n\n\n\n Everyone is welcome to come aboard\, explore the vehicles and take a trip down memory lane! Volunteers from FotEK and members of Stagecoach management will also be on hand to answer your questions and share their knowledge.\n\n\n\n Did you know? The East Kent Road Car Company was officially formed on 11th August 1916\, when five bus companies joined forces during the First World War to help secure their future. In 1993\, the company was purchased by Stagecoach\, continuing its legacy of serving communities across the region.\n\n\nFriends of the East Kent (FotEK) works to preserve this important history\, keeping vintage buses and historic artefacts alive for future generations.\n\n\n\nWhether you’re a bus enthusiast\, a lover of local history or simply fancy a nostalgic trip down memory lane\, come along and join us!\n\n\n\n The WonderWorks\, Margate 10am -3pm.\n Don’t miss this fantastic celebration of local transport history!\n\n\n\n*Please note half of the car park will be closed whilst the buses are on show.
